National Night Out - 2010 |
|

Palmview Police Department invites you to participate in the 2010 National Night Out (NNO) campaign August 3, 2010. We will be hosting the event with the City of Mission. There will be an opportunity to meet and discuss local crime and concerns with sworn law enforcement personnel from the Palmview Police Department as well as city leaders. Volunters in Policing (VIPs) will be on hand distributing free gun locks, crime prevention information and 911 safety information.
Last year's National Night Out campaign involved citizens, law enforcement agencies, civic groups, businesses, neighborhood organizations and local officials from over 15,000 communities from all 50 states, U.S. territories, Canadian cities and military bases worldwide. In all, over 36 million people participated in National Night Out 2009.
NATIONAL NIGHT OUT is designed to:
- Heighten crime and drug prevention awareness;
- Generate support for, and participation in, local anticrime programs;
- Strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships; and
- Send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.
